Love, Love, Love this place! From hostess to waiter to chef, the service is polite and welcoming. Though, I don't eat red meat and seafood, the Chef always creates a special dish just for me! And it is always soooo good, it really should be on the menu!

I love this place but much prefer noshing on the mason jar, cheese and charcuterie items upstairs at the wine bar. I've had dinner downstairs once, and it was fine, and I've had a few dishes that were "meh" but overall the food is interesting, well presented, fresh and tasty. It's a little pricey, but their bottle prices aren't all that bad for the quality. I almost always take home a bottle of whatever I tasted from the featured chalkboard wine selections. Never had a problem with service, but then, when I'm there, I'm at the bar and don't look at my watch much.

What a disappointment.  Over priced.  Food mediocre.  Service slow.  A waste of time and money.

I tried this place out during DineLA week with some girlfriends because it was highly recommended by a foodie friend of mine and it did not disappoint.

To start off I had a beet and carrot salad that was very very good. The main courses on the special DineLA menu were all items that you can find in the regular menu. I had the duck confit. It was cooked to perfection and very savory. The service was also fine our waiter made sure our water glasses were never empty and constantly checked in on us.

For dessert I tried the chocolate pudding. I'm not sure if this is normally on the menu. Id have to say that it wasn't anything special but at that point I was pretty full so it didn't matter much because I could barely touch it.

Another short drive to eat, Venice to Glendale!  What I loved about Palate is that the people eating there weren't pretentious at all, and they all looked like pretty serious foodies.  We chose to sit at the bar in the back, surrounded by the wine store!  It felt good to be surrounded by all these interesting bottles of wine.  The menu was interesting, the food was really tasty, and the wines were delicious.  I wish there were more restaurants like this on the west-side.  I would probably eat there more often if I didn't have to drive so far!

Good service. Except tables are too close to each other that some guys butt touched our bread plate. Pricey...but delicious. Lamb tartare was good, so was the pickled brussel sprouts and the pork belly.  ambience is industrial and wine store in back.  there was plenty of seating in front, dont know why they didnt seat the two of us there.

This is my favorite "foodie" and "wine-e" restaurant in the valley area.

Repeat customer - several times a year.

Food - 5 stars, new menu items weekly. (Can you say PORK BELLY!)
Awesome cheese selection!  Love the bread crostinis.
Good wine selection - some is overpriced, but some great deals too.

They have a wine shop in back - used to give free corkage if you bought a bottle and ate at the bar...not anymore.  Bummer!

Fun place, great atmosphere, sometimes they have music (its too loud).

Service is usually good but can be inconsistent.    Sometimes I've had crappy service at the bar - table service is usually better.  A couple of the waiters are excellent.  This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars - inconsistent service.

Ate here on week night-place was half full and they only had one server on.  The apps were great, but my Ox tail was just blah.  Our server  knew everything about the menu and drinks (he was also the bartender), but fell behind trying to do everything.  I would definitely go back.

Love this place.  Who knew this little culinary gem resided in Glendale.
Octavio has cleverly pulled together those things that make a very good meal, great.  Wine selection was completely on target with plenty of European wines to choose from. The cheese cave is home to some really special finds as well. A beautifully well rounded meal finished with some lovely desserts (deep chocolate pot de creme) and a 1979 bas Armagnac that left us speechless and wanting more. This is a restaurant to enjoy with friends-wonderful ambiance and attentive service every step of the way.
Bravo!!

My husband is quite a good cook but there were just 3 of us for Thanksgiving so we chose to go out to Palate.  We have been there 7 times.  This time - bad choice.  We made reservations for 4:30 to be out by 6:30.  Two hours should be adequate for a party of three at 4:30pm and they would probably welcome the table open again at 6:30pm.

We arrived on time at 4:30pm - we were seated immediately, no one was waiting.  In two hours we had had a glass of wine and bread, a bowl of soup, and an appetizer - in 2 hours!. If we hadn't been doing catchup on the last 6 months of everyone's lives and discussing the future, we would have been even more upset.

This was a SET MENU:a choice of one soup, three appetizers (all pre-prepared or salad assembly) and 4 entrees, again, no last minute details/sauces.

There was NO excuse for the delays between courses.  My husband asked the bus-person for more bread when the appetizers finally came.  It was never delivered.  When the waitress finally made it back to the table to "pour more wine and do you want another bottle" (she never asked how things were) I mentioned politely that she should tell the busperson not to bring the bread since we didn't need it anymore.  Hint, Hint. She then said, "Oh, we aren't having bread service tonight, that's why you didn't get any."  I said, "Wrong. We were served bread soon after we sat down. So were the people next to us and the people next to them."  She looked at me incredulously then said, "Oh, yes, his appetizer had 2 toast points with it, that's why he didn't get anymore"  and walked away.

As the entrees were delivered, I said firmly that we want two coffees, desserts in  to-go boxes and the check.

The coffee came by busperson soon after followed by the wrong desserts in to-go containers along with a container of the pork chops bones???? (which we left on the table). Finally, the check.  We were out in about 5 minutes.

I can not tell you where I think the breakdown is since we were seated at the last table in a dark corner in the back of the room with the bar.  Kitchen or server, understaffed, under prepped - don't know - I believe this was the slowest service I have ever had anywhere.  But I was aware that I had time to fully digest each course before the next came.

On a positive note, from previous visits, the food at the restaurant is overall consistently good.  The quality of service has always seemed challenged and indifferent.  Even when purchasing bottles of wine from the  wine store.  Ask a question, you will get a two or three word answer.  A business will not survive with that mix.

I will choose Ralph's $39.95 all inclusive turkey dinner before I would do this one again.
