I would give this place 6 stars if I could.

Ok, a story might be helpful here.  One of my coworkers was having problems with his glasses/prescription that he couldn't get resolved.  So I go- hey, why not come to my eye doc?  Didn't want to switch, bla bla, you know the drill.  So the dude suffered a few weeks more, then finally had it.

Bam!  This place made him up a pair and took care of his problem.  Another happy camper.  As others have mentioned, the staff here is fantastic.  They have has a long history of excellent people.  Dr. D, DeeDee, Harvey, Greg, Dr. Gin, Sarah, many more to name.  Remember- you need good eye doctors PLUS optician and contact lens staff.  This place has it all.

Fast forward a few years, I'm still going here even after moving out of the area.  Not convenient for me, but well worth it.  When you find a good doctor, eyedoc, dentist, mechanic- you stick with it  :)

This place is awesome - but let me give you a brief history of my eyes before I tell you how amazing Dr. Gin is.

I used to go to an optometrist that was in walking distance from my work and would go during my lunch. They were alright but the only minus with that business was the lack of parking (hence the walking during my lunch break or early morning before work). They offered a great selection of frames, however, the doctor was somewhat condescending to me (it had been awhile since I saw the doctor and he scolded me instead of giving me constructive advice on what I should be doing with my contacts, etc. - overall, wasn't that friendly, perhaps I caught him on a bad day).

Anyways, I moved offices to Glendale, and had to find a new optometrist. I scoured Yelp and saw all the great reviews about Dr. Gin and decided to make an appointment. Their building is close to the Galleria and wasn't hard to find at all. I schedule my appointment close to when the office opened (due to work) and was warmly greeted by the receptionist. I filled out paperwork and waited in the office. Although they didn't have a TV in the waiting room, it is filled with magazines (to be honest, I can't remember if there was a TV - if there was, it wasn't on).

I did have to wait a bit in the waiting room, but I didn't mind - it was early and I think they were still getting everything together. I was greeted by a male doctor who did my eye exam. It was fine, no problems...

Then, he guided me to another examination room where I waited another few minutes. Dr. Gin walked in and she was very warm, sweet and did the standard "which is better - 1... 2... or 3" and informed me that my right was getting weaker (almost catching up to the left eye!)

She wrote my prescription and also asked me about any problems I was having with my current contacts about how they would always be dry (thanks to my job having me stare at the computer 8 hours a day). She informed me that there are special lens implants that they can do as well as small microscopic tear releases that could help keep my lens moist.

After my examination with Dr. Gin, I was told I could pick out some lenses. The lady that helped me was very helpful (although, they didn't carry much of the style I was looking for - just standard black framed glasses). I made my decision and went to work.

About a week later, I was informed that my glasses were ready to be picked up and I went over and got them fitted to my wonderful face. Without having to wait that long!

Overall, my experience with Glendale Optometric Center and Dr. Gin is a very positive one and it'll be tough to find someone else as great as her and her team when I move up north.

Maybe I'll make trips down south just so I can get great service and glasses! ;)

Very advanced equipment, knowledgeable doctors and staff - they answered EVERY question and helped me understand vision and eye care better than I ever thought I could, and they have a great selection of glasses!

I love the staff... so friendly, happy, and caring.  They really know what they are doing, and they are truly on top of things.  Reminders, call-backs, all of it... awesome!

They take VSP, and they have good parking!

You want great eye care?  This is the place!!!

Wow. Since I started using Yelp to find my doctors I've been having much better luck with quality of care and service. So thanks everyone below!!!

The office is huge, clean, and comfy. Receptionist is incredibly friendly and sweet. And my appointment started at 5:15 on the dot! Dale did the field test and answered some of my questions about having dry eyes. He was really helpful! Gave me a really cool test where a picture of a landscape with a balloon comes into focus while measuring what your prescription should be.

Then on to Dr. Gin.. wow, she's wonderful. So down to earth. I've never been to such an awesome optometrist (minus my uncle in NJ maybe.. he's free). We talked about various things (where we went to college/lived/etc) while she checked out my eyes and fixed my prescription. Her adjustment to my contacts is making such a huge difference.. she totally improved the way I see and everything is less blurry, even with my astimatism. She didn't dialate my eyes and respected my decision; it was rainy and I had to drive myself home. She has the most up to date technology.. they've replaced that horrid air puff machine with a light machine instead. Way better! Free pair of trial Acuvue Oasis lenses in my eyes.. finally!!! I was SO sick of wearing my glasses.

Dr. Gin has a patient for as long as I am in LA. Don't hesitate to go see her; this office is worth the drive! So glad they accept VSP insurance. They don't accept American Express, but that's a lot of places these days.

Dr. Gin is really excellent.  My vision has never been a problem (I made an appointment only to get a long-overdue checkup), but she spent plenty of time with me anyway.  This office seems to be very current in terms of nifty technology... they did some sort of digital retinal scan that will be archived and used to track changes in my eyes.  All of the staff were very friendly, too.  This was certainly the most pleasant eye exam I can remember having.

I've been too many optometrists in the past 20 or so years but none compare to Dr. Gin and her staff at the Glendale Optometric Center.  From the receptionist to the opticians to Dr. Gin herself, everybody is extremely friendly and helpful.

Dr. Gin herself is very knowledgeable and friendly and always makes me feel comfortable even when i have machines and lights in my eyes.

Bottom line - if you need an optometrist or just don't like your current one, go to Glendale Optometric Center, it's definitely worth it.

Excellent staff, comfortable office, great visit overall! Dr. Gin is super caring & knowledgeable and will patiently answer all your questions. I also asked her for advice on dry eyes for my mom, and she explained the different approaches and choices for treating dry eyes in much greater detail  than previous optometrists we've talked to. The rest of the staff is super friendly too. They also take VSP, and they have a great selection of frames -- I got a cute pair of sunglasses :)

I have been going to eye doctors to get glasses for 30 years.
After going to a few in burbank and glendale I found this place.

The staff was very nice. They had all the latest testing stuff. I hate the machine that blows air in your eye. They don't use one! They have more modern stuff.

My biggest issue in the past has been either getting a bad prescription at Lens Crafters or other cheap places or having the people hound you to get glasses there. They won't just do the testing and then give you your prescription. I asked to get a copy and was given it without drama. I did end up getting my glasses there and I can say that they got me the most accurate prescription I have ever gotten.

I will go back again and highly recommend it.
