This hospital was ok for emergency room service, but if you have to be admitted anywhere, DO NOT GO TO GLENDALE MEMORIAL!!  I have several nurses in my family, so I am always sympathetic to how busy nurses are, but the nursing care I had at Glendale memorial was awful! The nurses forgot about me constantly, and tried to blame the 'call system' for not hearing my multiple calls for help. The IT guy came to check on the system and confirmed it was working perfectly - the nurses just didn't answer me! I was admitted there for 6 nights & 7 days and it was awful. Another one of my nurses went to a holiday party for several hours (while supposed to be watching me) and again, admitted she 'forgot about me' and couldn't hear me calling for her. (I was in serious pain and needed medication - but they were too busy partying to care about their patients!)  The only way I survived was because my Mom and boyfriend were there to watch over me and make sure I got proper treatment. My primary physician was MIA most of the time, but my Infectious disease, pulmonologist, and hematologist were good. Overall though, I say definitely stay away!! My ER care was ok, but my boyfriend overheard other patients complaining about being forgotten about while in the ER. As for care once admitted, it was seriously awful. It's bad enough to have to be admitted to the hospital, but to have bad care once admitted is truly horrendous and really made me feel bad for senior citizens. (I'm 28 and was one of the few patients able to fight for myself! I heard older people crying out for help at all hours of the day and night, but they had no one to fight for them to get care.) The only reason I was able to get healthy was because my Mom and boyfriend were at my side asking questions and getting me help. If I had been alone, I probably would have been there for weeks. Oh, and you have to check your bills closely because they will charge you for things that were the hospital's mistake - i.e. add'l blood draws, needles, medicines, etc.
Unless you are in a dire emergency, DO NOT GO TO GLENDALE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL!!!!

I was admitted late Sat evening (midnight) and was seen almost immediately. ER doctors and nurses were all very patient, friendly, and helpful in finding my illness. once general diagnosis was complete i was sent upstairs for tests. Again the doctors were all very pleasant and responsive to my concerns.

I ended up needing Surgery and which was prompt and thorough. The Surgeon explained everything very clearly and wasted no time in moving the process along. Surgery went as expected and i am very satisfied with the results.

Recovery was just as pleasant. I was provided a private room, and the nursing staff was very helpful and attentive to my needs. The rooms themselves are clean, and comfortable. Once allowed to leave i was unable to find a ride, and instead of kicking me to the curb they let me continue my stay in my private room almost an entire day before i was picked up and released. I recommend this facility to anyone needing medical assistance.

I came here Sunday at around 9am. It was pretty busy but all the workers had the pleasure of speaking to were very nice.

I was there longer than I thought I would be but I don't mind because I got done what I planned on getting done.

A nurse from the hospital just called me to see how I was doing. I hope to never go back there ever but if I am in need of an emergency I will come here.

I broke my foot and now I am home high as a kite.

Last week I had my first ER experience and I'm so glad I had it with the folks at Glendale Memorial.  Every single person I had contact with was nicer then the next.  A special thanks to my nurse and doctor who, based on what I saw, put up with quite a lot from the general public every day.  Yet they still remained calm and sweet and offered service above and beyond what I normally receive from my own primary care physician.  I'm very thankful to them!
